Sharing your gallery is the final step - getting that gallery link into your client's hands so they can view, download, and enjoy their photos!
How to Share a Gallery:
- Finish uploading photos and organizing collections
- Configure settings (downloads, watermarks, expiration)
- Preview gallery to confirm everything looks perfect
- Copy the gallery link
- Send link to client via email or through ShootPath
- Client clicks link and views gallery
Automatic Notifications:
ShootPath can automatically email clients when:

Detailed Guide
When to Share Your Gallery
Share your gallery after:
- All photos uploaded (or the collection you're sharing)
- Collections organized (if using them)
- Settings configured correctly (downloads, watermarks, expiration)
- Preview looks perfect
- You're ready for client to view
Timing strategies:
Sneak peeks (24-48 hours after shoot): Upload 5-10 favorites → Share immediately → Build excitement
Highlights (1-2 weeks after shoot): Upload 50-75 favorites → Share early → Keep client engaged while you finish editing
Full gallery (3-4 weeks after shoot): Upload all photos → Share complete delivery → Client has everything
Choose timing that fits your workflow and client expectations!
Automatic Gallery Notifications
The easiest way to share galleries - let ShootPath notify clients automatically!
Enabling Auto-Notifications
Go to: Gallery Settings > Notifications
Enable:
- "Send notification when gallery is published"
- "Send notification when new photos are added"
- "Send notification when new collections are published"
- "Send expiration reminder (7 days before)"

Customizing Notification Emails
You can customize the email clients receive:
Subject line:

Manual Sharing Methods
Prefer to send gallery links yourself? Here are the options:
Method 1: Email Through ShootPath
From the job page:
- Go to Files & Gallery tab
- Click "Share Gallery"
- Opens pre-filled email with gallery link
- Add personal message
- Click "Send"
Email includes:
- Subject: "Your Gallery from {Your Business Name}"
- Gallery link (clickable)
- Photo count
- Instructions for viewing/downloading
- Expiration date
- Your signature
Best for: Professional delivery email with gallery link embedded!
Method 2: Copy Gallery Link
From the job page:
- Go to Files & Gallery tab
- Click "Copy Gallery Link"
- Link copied to clipboard
- Paste into your own email, text, or message

Method 3: Client Portal Access
How it works:
- Client logs into their ShootPath portal
- Sees all their jobs
- Clicks "View Gallery" on relevant job
- Gallery opens automatically
No link needed! Client accesses through their account.
Best for:
- Clients who are already using the portal (contract signing, payments)
- Multiple touchpoints (quote, contract, gallery all in one place)
- Professional, organized experience
To enable: Gallery is automatically linked to job. No extra setup needed!
Method 4: QR Code
Generate QR code for gallery: Gallery Settings > Sharing > Generate QR Code
Client scans with phone camera → Gallery opens!
Best for:
- In-person delivery
- Printed materials (thank-you cards, packaging)
- Events (post QR at venue)
Unique use case: Include QR code in wedding album or print packaging. Client can revisit digital gallery anytime!

Password-Protected Gallery Sharing
If gallery has password protection enabled:

Social Sharing by Clients
If social sharing is enabled, clients can share the gallery:
How Clients Share
From gallery view:
- Click "Share" button
- Copy link
- Share on Facebook, Instagram, email, etc.
What happens:
- Recipient clicks link
- Views gallery (if sharing is allowed)
- Sees your watermarked photos
- Your business gets exposure!
Controlling Social Sharing
Enable sharing for maximum exposure: Gallery Settings > Sharing > "Allow clients to share gallery"
Great for:
- Weddings (family wants to see!)
- Events (attendees share with each other)
- Marketing (more people see your work)
Disable sharing for privacy: Gallery Settings > Sharing > "Restrict sharing (client only)"

Tracking Gallery Engagement
After sharing, you can see if/when client viewed the gallery:
Access Analytics
Gallery Settings > Access Log
You can see:
- Date/time client viewed gallery
- How many times viewed
- Which collections browsed
- What was downloaded
- IP address (general location)
Why this matters:
Confirm delivery - "Client viewed gallery 2 hours after I sent link. Success!"
Follow up - "Haven't viewed in 3 days. Should I check if they got the email?"
Troubleshooting - "Client says they can't access gallery. Log shows no views. Probably wrong email or spam folder."
Engagement insights - "Client viewed ceremony collection 5 times but didn't view reception. Interesting!"
Following Up After Sharing
Best practices for post-delivery communication:

If client viewed: Great! Let them enjoy.

Common Sharing Issues & Solutions
Client says they didn't receive gallery link:
Check:
- Email address correct?
- Check their spam/junk folder
- Resend link manually
- Try different email address
- Send via text message instead
Client can't open gallery:
Check:
- Link copied completely (no truncation)
- Gallery hasn't expired
- Password required? Did you provide it?
- Try different browser
- Try incognito/private mode
Client says downloads aren't working:
Check:
- Are downloads enabled in settings?
- Has selection requirement been met?
- Gallery expired?
- Internet connection stable?

Gallery link looks weird/broken:
Check:
- Link copied completely
- No spaces or line breaks in URL
- Send as clickable link, not plain text

Test before sending - Preview gallery as client. Make sure everything works perfectly before sharing!
Communicate expiration clearly - "Your gallery will be available for 60 days - please download all photos by March 15."
Include instructions - Don't assume clients know how to use galleries. Include brief how-to instructions!
Personalize delivery - Add personal note referencing something specific from their session. Shows you care!
Follow up - Check in 24 hours later if they haven't viewed. People miss emails!
Remind before expiration - 7-day warning prevents last-minute panic downloads.
Enable auto-notifications - Less manual work for you, instant delivery for clients!
Use watermarks strategically - Watermark previews so shares on social media include your branding.

After Delivery: Marking Complete
Once gallery is shared and client has downloaded photos:
- Confirm final payment received
- Gallery successfully delivered
- Client is happy
- Mark job complete in ShootPath
To mark complete:
- Open job
- Go to workflow tab
- Check "Gallery Delivered"
- Click "Mark Job Complete"
What happens:
- Job moves from "Active" to "Complete"
- Gallery remains accessible (until expiration)
- Stats updated (jobs completed this year)
- Ready for your next project!
